Thingverse 3D models

There's some amazing collections of printable 3D models available on Thingverse. For example, what looks like a remodel (or perhaps the original 3d model?) used for an ALIEN film "Space Jockey" statue:

There's a variety of others saved in peoples themed "Collections" - well worth checking out if you want to do a small model-scale print on Shapeways, or a full sized one on a home 3D printer. The artist for this statue in particular, Geoffro has some amazing files available from a variety of SF genres.

Fallout: 3D printed Action Figure Parts - Protectron

The beginnings of articulating a remodeled Fallout Protectron (in scale with NECA-sized 6" / 7" figures). Much of the work comes from knocking down the 3D print lines and polygonal angles into something smoother. This is done with a combination of a metal drum-bit on a corded dremel, a sharp hobby knife, and layers of liquid-type "Krazy-Glue" to create a new sandable surface.

Shapeways Fallout: Armor

While I'm casting my resculpted v1 NCR and Brotherhood of Steel Armor helmets, I'm busy at work with other projects: Remodeled/fixed versions of in-game armors from Fallout / FO: New Vegas.

Thanks to Shapeways, as well as a friend in Australia with a great printer, I'll be able to affordably create NECA-scaled "bespoke"custom figures, as well as a 1:1 scale Pipboy cosplay project.

Tiny Cigarettes for action figures

The fellow who purchased my Simon Bisley-styled John Constantine (Hellblazer) figure requested that a tiny cigarette be added to the characters right hand. This leaves his left hand open for holding an assortment of other things.

 Made from a clipped white paperclip, painted with Vallejo acrylics. I sealed the ends with liquid-type super glue to avoid the sleeve shifting while it's installed later.
The whole cigarette thing will be sealed with Mr. Hobby matte spray for extra durability.

WIP: Alex Milne Styled Optimus Prime

Using the 'bunny ears' from a Bandai Transforming motorbike (partsforming, Karmen Rider?) + a headcast of my MMC Purple Knightmorpher Commander, I created something that mimics the Alex Milne-style Optimus Prime. 

This is a very early piece - I still need to sculpt over the mouth-plate grates, and repair the airbubble at the top of his helmet. I'm waiting to see what new Truck-transformer base bodies come out (the BeastHunters Prime looks promising).
