Articulated Puppets

A really interesting piece on sculpting, casting, and articulating a rod-puppet - similar to the Xenomorph Queen in ALIENS.
For the full lesson, it links to the Stan Winston School of Character Arts. I'm slightly envious of anyone who can devote their professional life to learning skills like this. Most toy customizers just learn their skills through trial and error over the years. For example, I was impressed by the use of fiberglass molding, and how the negative space around the piece didn't need to be filled in completely by mold material, as working with Smooth-on Oomoo Silicon molding material.
